Welding Inspector / QA/QC Inspector
Main Function
The Welding Inspector / QA/QC Inspector ensures all welding and fabrication activities on oil and gas projects meet approved procedures, codes, and client specifications. The role oversees welding quality, conducts inspections, verifies welder qualifications, and ensures compliance with safety and international standards throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect welding operations and materials to ensure conformity with WPS, project standards, and client requirements.
Monitor welders’ performance, qualification tests, and consumable control.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welds and joints on pipelines, pressure vessels, and structural components.
Review welding procedures, NDT reports, and ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, and API codes.
Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Maintain detailed QA/QC records, reports, and documentation for client and project audits.
Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and HSE teams to uphold quality and safety standards.
Support pre-commissioning, hydrotesting, and final handover inspections.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Welding Engineering.
5-10 years of QA/QC or welding inspection experience in oil & gas fabrication, construction, or pipeline projects.
Valid CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2, AWS-CWI, or equivalent certification.
Good knowledge of ASME, API, and AWS codes and standards.
Familiarity with NDT methods and QA/QC documentation control.
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Ability to work in both onshore and offshore environments.
